Here is a 60cm Wild Florida American Alligator Hornback. Notice the very large and defined horns and fin running down the middle of this skin. American Alligator, also known as "gator" skins are only indigenous only to South Eastern United States and known throughout the globe as the most luxurious species of all the crocodilians. Wild "gators" have much more pronounced horns which often protrude twice the height as similar sized farm raised "gators" Notice the scars and holes in the tail area, this is common and sought after as wild alligators are very aggressive in the wild and use their tails as not only a weapon for survival, however, a propeller for mobility. Did you know when you see images and videos of alligators with their heads sticking out of the water that they are actually sitting up on their tails? They also use their tails more than the feet when in water. Common uses for Alligator hornbacks of this size are: motorcycle seats, saddle seats, furniture, wall coverings, and any pattern that requires more than 22" in the width.
