Silva September 23, 1934 - May 28, 2011 Beloved Father, Grandfather, & Great Grandfather Joseph Villareal Silva, born September, 23, 1934, entered into eternal life at his home of twenty-one years in Moreno Valley on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Born in Bakersfield, CA to Inez and Aurelio, Joe was preceded to heaven by his parents, his brother Alphonso, and his sister Mary. Joe was retired from his family business of retail clothing, having run a wholesale warehouse and retail storefront, he was best known for his Swap Meet locations. Many people who know him today may not know that he was originally a custom furniture re-upholsterer. He is survived by his nine children, Mary Lou, Josie, Rick, Greg, Steve, Cynthia, LaVista, Michael, and Michelle. Joe's extended family includes daughters & sons-in-law, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, with another one on the way this fall, not to mention the countless neighborhood children he "adopted" along the way with his "mi casa es su casa" open-door policy. Service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 and consist of a viewing between the hours of 12pm and 3pm and funeral service to be conducted from 3pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Joe's honor to The American Cancer Society, The American Diabetes Association, or any children's charities/programs like The Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
